Acai Bowl Recipe

Acai bowls are refreshing and delicious in the warmer weather and are one of my favorite snacks or even breakfast. They are quick to make at home and you know what you are eating. When you buy them at smoothy shakes you are mostly getting sugar.  If you make your own you can control the sugar content and enjoy a nice healthy summer snack. Today we are going to learn how.

Tools you will need:

  • Strong food processor.
  • A spatula for pushing down the sides the of the food processor.

Ingredients:

  • A bag of frozen acai. Make sure you choose unsweetened acai.
  • A bag of frozen strawberries.
  • 1 frozen banana.
  • Toppings.
  • My favorites are chai, flax, berries, nut butters, pomegranate, and home made granola.


Process:

  • Let your acai sit out until it is soft for around 10 minutes. It should be soft or even close to liquid state.
  • Place acai, banana, and strawberries into food processor.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Turn off the food processor and spatula down the sides of the food processor as needed.
  • Spoon out the acai into 4 bowls.
  • Top with favorite ingredients.
